Research Momentum

The BIND Consortium has submitted two workshop applications to the ENMC, reflecting continued momentum in advancing key research priorities. We look forward to updates on the outcomes of these applications.

On 6 March 2026, BIND members gathered for a face-to-face meeting at LUMC (Leiden, The Netherlands). The meeting focused on WP5 and WP6 progress, with in-depth discussions on neurocognitive and neuroimaging analyses. Key topics included updates on ongoing and upcoming publications, clinical and functional data, and progress from the psychopharmacology working group. Further discussions covered patient preference studies, developments around the BIND Screener, and planning for future face-to-face meetings, reinforcing the continued collaboration across the consortium.

BIND Webinar: Research Progress and Opportunities for Industry Collaboration

On Tuesday 17 March 2026, BIND hosted a webinar titled “Research Progress and Opportunities for Industry Collaboration.” The session brought together 26 participants from 6 companies, highlighting strong interest in collaborative opportunities between academia and industry.

We were delighted to hear from Francesco Muntoni, Rubén Miranda, Maaike van Putten, and Elizabeth Vroom, who shared insights into ongoing research and future directions for the Association. A sincere thank you to all our speakers for their valuable contributions and to all attendees for their engagement in this important discussion.

Publications

We are pleased to announce the publication presenting the development and validation of the BIND Screener – a brief, reliable, and valid, multilingual tool, which facilitates early identification of brain-related co-morbidities in DMD.  Well done to all those involved!

The full BIND publication list is available on the website, showcasing the consortium’s growing scientific output.  https://bindassociation.org/publications/

Thank you for your continued support of BIND. We encourage all colleagues to stay connected, contribute to upcoming activities, and formally join the Association to remain part of this growing international community.
